53-unit Roxborough includes a classic brick building dating to 1920 located in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The initial phase of work included replumbing the entire building in 2012 to provide proper water service to the apartments. Cosmetic improvements were made to the corridors and common areas. In the apartments, kitchens were updated with granite countertops and stainless appliances. The wood floors were refinished with a rich walnut stain and units were fully repainted.
Next the team obtained permits to add two apartments in former basement laundry room space, while moving laundry facilities upstairs to each floor.
The third phase included a multiyear permitting process to construct 26 new units as an addition in a former parking lot. The addition features a compelling blend of modern interior finishes and classic exterior elements that complement Roxborough’s vintage façade. The project was successfully sold in 2019
